Description:

Stoat gets a hefty expansion to make it a proper city.

According to the Kenshi Wiki, the United Cities’ population is concentrated in the towns of Stoat, Heng, and Heft in the central territories, while the south is centered in Drifter’s Last, influenced by the population effects from World-States. So I wanted to give one of these cities a proper expansion to reflect the population.

Built around the CATO mod, Stoat is now has two districts, with the new neighborhood having most of the residential population. As a slaver town, you’ll find more slave shops to buy or liberate slaves. Every kind of shop you can think of that can be found across the Empire are here, as well as a Thieves Guild.

The world-state swaps are also affected by the mod. The malnourished and half-destroyed states aren’t too much different, and many of the added shops will be gone in these states. As for the Tech Hunters take over, the town will have a slightly bigger population in addition to some adventure gate guards to some of the gates. Hopefully the Tech Hunters will be more conscientious of this large city they’ll take over should something happen to Stoat’s local lord.

As I’m using the CATO mod, the city is built off the layout and road network, so CATO is required. Without it, the walls of the new district won’t line up and the navmesh will be out of whack.

Compatibility:

This mod is likely not compatible with any other mods that totally overhaul Stoat or add any other buildings to the areas I expanded into. I didn’t make any changes to the original city, so if a mod affects the layout there it *could* be compatible.

I give full permission to anyone to make compatibility patches. Just say hey Gayus made this. 🙂

Known issues:

Building shuffling. I don’t have control over how town residents choose which building to use. So you’ll find shops in different places than you would in the vanilla city.

Slaves. In vanilla Kenshi, slave caravans will travel to cities to "gather slaves" and then deliver them to some location. I believe in the UC its to either to the stone camps or slave farms. While slaves do not despawn between travel or loaded zones, the slavers DO. It creates odd behavior of slaves returning to their original town and just stand outside the city gates forever. Sometimes the guards will capture them, sometimes they just leave them there. I don’t know how to change this. Maybe someday someone will come up with a mod that changes slave behavior.
