[Upan’s Mod] PoD Custom
Price of Darkness is a mod that adds bookmarks & characters.
For those who love the WoD universe, this mod provides unusual characters that were difficult to enjoy in PoD.
Since these are additions, there may be content that contradicts the original narrative.
For example, Natadevi embracing Buyo-ung to create the Gural monstrosity, three individuals sleeping in the cemetery guarded by Nagomi being 4th generation Cainites, Camilla wanting to use Garo’s gladius as her pillow, and so on…
However, such issues already exist in CK3 and PoD, so they shouldn’t be a major problem during gameplay.
Just enjoy the experience.
This mod adds several characters and related figures, and in some cases, unique systems and events.
- Buyo-ung “Abandoned Finger,” master of Tamla’s merchant guild
- As shown by his surname and family, he is a descendant of Tamla traders. (In CK3, Tamla is represented as inheriting Baekje lineage, so he is considered Baekje.)
- As a Gural monstrosity, he cannot feed on blood. To resolve this, he has an adoption system and a retainer family.
- Since he cannot build a family through vampiric embrace, he has a unique feature: [Forced Adoption].
He can forcibly adopt those who feel fear, adopt members of his retainer family, or even adopt prisoners.
- Since he cannot build a family through vampiric embrace, he has a unique feature: [Forced Adoption].
- Duke Nagomi “Tetchung” of Osnerzrab (located in UEA)
- The last surviving member of the Ghost Clan, who traditionally managed the Cainite cemetery.
- In the first month, an event occurs where you decide what to do with the cemetery, drastically changing gameplay.
- Ghoul Hunter
Kill the elders of the cemetery and become a hunter.
You may become a branch family of Gantenbein or a separate ghoul hunter. The initiation event differs, leading to completely different gameplay. - Ghoul
Use the elders’ vitae to become a ghoul. - Vampire
Use the elders for dark magic. If successful, you become a vampire.
- Ghoul Hunter
- Garo “Silver Fang,” bastard of von Murnau
- A hunter who lost his lover and daughter, became a Cainite but refused the embrace, vowing to drink only vampire blood.
Of course, the system cannot enforce this, so he still feeds on mortals. - A landless adventurer hunter who mercilessly slays vampires.
Since the Murnau family is generally weak, he often ends up as the head of the family, though the intended story is that of a Blade-like character.
- A hunter who lost his lover and daughter, became a Cainite but refused the embrace, vowing to drink only vampire blood.
- And more…
The background of development was inspired by Mage: The Ascension, part of WoD, which includes more references to Korea than expected (such as King Sejong). The purpose was to reflect these settings.
