Description:

The young Galatian nobleman Vortius—who loved Rome so much that he had his name Romanised—had travelled throughout the Mediterranean world, witnessing first hand the discipline of the Roman legions, the tactics of the Hellenistic kingdoms, and the sophisticated weaponry and organisational methods of various nations.

Upon returning to his fatherland, he concluded that Galatia could not rely solely on bravery and tribal traditions. To adapt to the increasingly brutal nature of warfare, he began lobbying various factions to drive through military reforms: retaining the shock value of Galatian warriors whilst incorporating the training, organisational structures and equipment expertise of nations across the Mediterranean.

From that point on, Galatia ceased to be merely a nation of warriors hired by kings, and instead became a far more formidable war machine.
