Wet and Hot
This is a mod that adds high temperature and wetness effects to objects and creatures.
Do not touch small centipedes while wet!!
Do not leave explosives in hot places!!
Do not jump into water when you are cold!!
Objects gradually become wet when submerged in water. They will naturally dry out after leaving the water, and the drying process speeds up if they have heat.
Objects can gain heat, which dissipates naturally over time. When different objects are grabbed or held together, heat exchange occurs between them.
Living creatures automatically maintain their body temperature.
When a creature is cold, being wet makes it even colder, while heat warms you up (and can even make you too warm).
Creatures take damage from overheating, and different creatures have different heat tolerances. Fortunately, the player character is actually more heat-resistant than most.
Wetness amplifies electric shock effects, allowing centipedes to potentially kill larger creatures, while the target also takes more damage from the shock.
Two new HUD meters have been added for players, displaying wetness and heat levels respectively.
Dust storm regions gradually heat up creatures and objects. The closer you get to the dust storm, the faster the heating rate.
Explosives will detonate when they become hot enough.
The conditions for bubble fruit to open have been slightly changed: it will also open when grabbed by a wet creature.
Streams naturally have a wetness value of 0.2.
Jellyfish shocks are not affected by wetness.
This mod is actually a foundation for an upcoming creature and item pack. A group of "enthusiastic" creatures and some special items are currently in development.
