Simply unpack files into your ***/SteamApps/common/Homeworld/HomeworldRM/Bin/Release and In-game set UI Effects to OFF
For some reason it’s impossible to take screenshots in steam – effect dosen’t show in steam screenshots.
Press "Print Screen" to take screenshots. They will be saved to your /Release folder

Notes:
1) It’s for H2 Remastered. Haven’t tested with H1
2) I made it for single player modes. It uses custom OpenGL32.dll so if you want to use it in multiplayer – use it at your own risk. (Sometimes, in some games, custom dll’s – d3d9, dxgi, opengl – are not allowed. It may lead to your account ban)
