Description:

"Runkuma is also known as the city of eternal night. This mighty fortress of the Tooru has protected them for a long time but it’s nightly enchantments have since long faded. It’s lands are populated with Ganji, Ziin and humans. Dominated by the Tooru they haven’t seen a rebellion in generations, ever since the Ganji-Bi tried to ally with the Ziin. In this great war of the spirits the Tooru cemented their rule and the loyalty of their human subjects.

A nexus of trade sitting between the jungle and the desert, the river and the land, the mundane and the magical. Many travelers visit the bazaars, trading gold, gems and magic. With trade wealth flows into the coffers of the ruling Zaa-clan. But the real power behind the throne are the Harakoy-clan who managed to intermarry into every other clan.

The Tooru are a magical race blessed in the garden of the Pantokrator with long life and magical prowess. When they built their city of Runkuma along the great river they subjugated the Ziin that dwelled there and stole their secrets of Glamour magic. Now they rule a mighty empire with their Ganji and human auxiliaries."

Runkuma is a nation based on the trade between the Niger river and the Sahara desert. The EA version is based on the pre-Islamic mythology of the people that will eventually found the Songhai kingdom. The Holle are a collection of supernatural beings and gods similar to the Norse having Aesir, Vanir, elves and Jotnar.

The nation is ruled by the Tooru who are mechanically similar to the Van and Sidhe. Exceptionally skilled, deep into glamour and expensive. But Africa is hot, iron working is scary thus armor is light. They rule over the magical Ganji, lesser supernatural beings with strange powers like fire resistance and a weakness to iron. Alongside the Ganji one can find more mundane humans who used to worship the powerful Ziin, reptilian beings of great power that were subjugated by the Tooru.

Capital gives you the most powerful recruitment, most forts gives you elves with wastelands giving you heat resistant lesser elves. Outside of forts other lesser elves give you access to poor amphibians. Humans exist as a cheap stop gap should you need them but I don’t expect them to be a major feature of your armies. Ziin are relegated to summonable mages.
