Meaningful Dynamic Prosperity
Makes regional stability, estate wealth balance, and location prosperity impactful and fluid on mid-term horizons.
Note: this is an early release for a friendo, but I find it makes the game play much better and dynamically, and allows for more historically accurate paths, such as most of the western medieval powers taking at least 100 years to regain their pre-black death populaces in most circumstances, while the eastern less dense kingdoms are not as severely affected by the black death in the first place.
Meaningful Dynamic Prosperity
In the vanilla game, structural metrics like Prosperity, Stability, and Estate Satisfaction often function as static values that players build up once and forget. This mod creates an interconnected mechanical loop, transforming internal governance into a fluid process where domestic stability and economic value actively shift based on player performance and administrative choices.
Key Features
1. The Governance Flywheel
Prosperity, Stability, Estate Satisfaction, and War Exhaustion are now systemically linked. Strong governance, high stability, and satisfied estates directly accelerate location prosperity and slow the accumulation of war exhaustion. Conversely, ignoring internal unrest or allowing war exhaustion to spiral triggers a compounding decay loop. This design ensures that your empire’s growth is heavily based on good governance.
2. Prosperity Mechanics: Benefits & Costs
Achieving peak prosperity yields significant economic and demographic advantages, unlocking higher potential for core territories. However, maintaining a hyper-prosperous state introduces scaling administrative overhead and structural maintenance costs. Players must carefully manage their state finances to sustain these high-yield regions without draining the treasury.
3. Historical Estate and Noble Tax Overhaul
The base game allows states to extract a disproportionate share of revenue from the upper classes. This overhaul restructures the fiscal system to reflect historical realities. Nobles are now fundamentally more resilient to heavy taxation and will rarely account for the majority of a state’s revenue. Players must look to alternative economic models, commerce, or negotiate policy concessions with other estates to secure funding.
4. Global Map Rebalance
The starting layout of the map has been adjusted globally to deliver a more balanced, historically realistic baseline of initial development across all regions. Additionally, a specialized development bonus is integrated across the European theater to simulate distinct regional infrastructure pacing.
5. Increase Cabinet Advisor Effectiveness
This mod pairs great with additional cabinet actions, putting a 100 ability advisor in charge of a cabinet action now feels impactful and worthwhile.
