There Is Only War: 40k
This is an early release of a 40k mod for Door Kickers 2.
Expect rough edges and a bit of jank.
Already fun to play though!
Important Notes
- All custom assets are made to be viewed through the game’s default camera, not close-up inspection.
- Balance passes will happen later.
Included Content
- A Death Korps themed squad with Watchmaster, Specialist, Engineer, and Trooper classes.
- Adeptus Arbites squad lead by Proctor who can intimidate the enemies into submission.
- A squad of Scout Marines of Raptors chapter – absolutely OP as even neophyte Astartes should be – fitting enemies are coming…
Enemies
- Chaos Cultists with lasguns, autoguns, autopistols, axes, and heavy stubbers.
- Cultist Enforcer with a deadly shotgun.
- Psyker throwing warpfire.
- Plaguebearer daemons – tough and deadly.
Gameplay Disclaimers- Lasguns currently have a 50 damage melee bonus, so bayonet charges through smoke are very much intended.
- Flamer warning: manually targeted attacks beyond 8 meters WILL lock the the trooper into very long uncancellable animation (DK2 engine limitation). Be careful. If the accuracy cone starts expanding, that range is broken. And put the flame trooper in the frontline or your team will burn.
- Psyker warpfire rarely triggers. It needs an open sightline, and the current maps do not really provide that.
- Scouts cost 2 to deploy but sometimes the game decides to fill all deployment slots regardless – it’s up to you if you want to redeploy manually and play "fair".
MapsThis release includes 5 maps in a map collections – There Is Only War, focused on frontline combat, Minor Heresies – small-squad engagements, and Trials of Faith – quite ridiculous and "creative" maps will go there.
- No Man’s Land – cross the killzone and clear a bunker.
- Bastion of the Faithless – breach a heretic compound and disarm the bombs placed on the prometheum reserves. Heretics are preparing to destroy the compound and placed 3 bombs. Disarm them and purge the unclean.
- Raid At Midnight – navigate heretic trenches at night to reach a secret compound storing Inquisition secrets that you have to destroy – disable NVG filter to play this mission as intended.
- Page Fault – the cult has infiltrated and mined Mechanicum shrine – fight through stacks of books and cogitators and defuse on time.
- Heart of Darkness – destroy multiple objectives in a convoluted labyrinth of Nurgle.
