Regina Maskitova is an attractive woman who spent much of her life moving within exclusive circles of political power, where her existence was shaped by influential and often dangerous men. When one of her "patrons" began to treat her as his personal possession, the situation escalated into violence. Regina suffered serious injuries and narrowly survived the incident.
Managing to escape, she seized an opportunity to flee on an evacuation ship heading into deep space, leaving everything behind. With no clear future or plan, only the instinct to survive, she ended up among a group of colonists stranded on an alien world.
