[WOTC] Dark Event Duration
It says this Dark Event is for six weeks, but that can’t be accurate, can it? I’m confused.
Shows additional information about planned and active Dark Events in game.
In the base game keeping track of Dark Events is relatively easy. They are active for a month. If a Dark Event has a non-standard duration time, it is usually mentioned in the text. If you play with Grim Horizon, then everything is permanent. So far so good. But then enter mods: mods can introduce permanent Dark Events even without Grim Horizon. Dark Events can have various lengths (see, e.g., Gameplay Mutators mod). With Grim Horizon Fix, some Dark Events can be excluded from Grim Horizon. And then we enter the memory game: do I remember which mods go into which category? Or worse, suppose I let a Council Of Shadows plan my modlist for me, and I don’t actually know what they put on the list. How can I know if a Dark Event I see in game is permanent or not?
This is the gap that my mod fulfills. Permanent Dark Events are now clearly marked as such. Temporary Dark Events have a countdown timer to expiry. In addition, Chosen Initiated Dark Events keep track of the Chosen who initiated them.
Fully localized in German (?).
No? I guess you can change the colors of the additional texts.
Not really.
- The mod will read Grim Horizon’s Fix exclusion list and adjust accordingly. However, using Grim Horizon Fix is not a hard requirement. However, this mod is mostly unnecessary without Grim Horizon Fix (maybe Gameplay Mutators is crazy enough to warrant it without Grim Horizon).
- I can’t say this mod was tested too extensively but I verified its basic functionalities work correctly. Let me know.
I would like to thank Zelfana for useful discussions and Stukov for a very useful code excerpt.
As usual, the author is grateful to the members of the MEME Discord server for useful discussions and continued emotional support.
