Big City QoL
Big City QoL is a small bundle of practical tweaks for large settlements. It is meant for the part of the game where the city works, but you are spending too much time stamping down the same support rooms, replacing worn buildings, and babysitting stockpiles. It does not redesign the game or remove planning. It just makes a few systems scale a little more comfortably once the city gets big.
Script changes
- Affected services have their radius doubled.
- Affected services have usage halved, with a minimum usage value of 0.05.
- Affected services are: wells, lavatories, baths, physicians, hospitals, hearths, eateries, canteens, taverns, markets, speakers, stages, shrines, and temples.
- Stockpile upgrade boosts are set to 162, 602, and 1002.
- If the game ever exposes fewer than three stockpile boost entries, the script doubles whatever entries exist instead.
- All room blueprint degrade rates are multiplied by 0.5.
- Food spoilage/degrade speed is set to: bread 0.25, egg 0.025, fish 0.25, fruit 0.125, meat 0.1875, mushroom 0.0625, ration 0.0125, vegetable 0.125.
Room file changes
- Physician work stats: [0.25, 1, 0] -> [0.5, 2, 0].
- Physician second item stats: [0, 0, 0.5] -> [0, 0, 1.0].
- Physician fulfillment: 0.75 -> 1.0.
- Physician radius: 164 -> 328.
- Physician health boost: 4.0 -> 8.0.
- Hospital stats: [1, 0.25] -> [2, 0.5].
- Hospital fulfillment: 0.5 -> 1.0.
- Hospital radius: 400 -> 800.
- Janitor stats: [5, 0] -> [10, 0].
- Janitor second item stats: [0, 2] -> [0, 4].
What it does not change
- It does not make services free.
- It does not remove worker, resource, or layout requirements.
- It does not change every room in the game, only the systems listed above.
- It is meant as convenience, not a total rebalance.
Use it if you enjoy the late game, but not the part where every district starts needing the same support block copied over and over. Built for Songs of Syx V71.
