Description:

Become a wise ruler through great governance. Movement bonuses are your reward for the effort.

Description

This mod grants campaign movement range bonuses to armies that start their turn in regions with high Control. A well-managed province is a stable one: roads are maintained, supplies flow freely, and your forces can move without delay. The higher the Control, the greater the bonus.

What this means in practice:

  • Chasing down raiders and fleeing enemies within your territory becomes less frustrating
  • Armies moving through stable, high-Control regions waste fewer turns and can reposition across your realm much more efficiently
  • Investing in Control now provides a direct, tangible benefit on the campaign map

The bonus scales proportionally with Control, so there is always a reason to keep it high.

Campaign movement bonus based on Control (when starting in the region):

  • 25–50: +20%
  • 50–75: +40%
  • 75–100: +60%

Compatibility

Should be compatible with most mods. Load order should not matter. Safe to add and remove mid-campaign.

Recommended Mods

Delete March Stance And Double Time Stance — Recommended if you want to enjoy the movement bonuses this mod provides while keeping the overall balance closer to vanilla.

Delete March Stance And Double Time Stance eliminates the March and Double Time stances entirely. While this means all armies lose access to the raw movement boost that March normally provides, this mod fills that gap in a more meaningful way — armies operating in high-Control regions will gain equivalent or greater movement bonuses, but only where your administration has actually earned it.

Why this pairing works:

  • Better AI behavior: Without March stance available, the AI makes far smarter decisions — it uses a wider variety of stances and stops wasting its recruitment slots by defaulting to March while sitting safely in its own territory
  • No more exhausted armies: One of the most frustrating vanilla game behaviors is the AI marching directly toward an enemy and engaging in battle while Tired — a free combat penalty handed to the player. Delete March Stance And Double Time Stance eliminates this entirely
  • Earned mobility: Players and AI alike can still enjoy march-level movement bonuses — but only from regions with high Control. It becomes a reward for good administration rather than a free stance available to everyone at all times
