Description:

"Imperium Romanum shall rise again."

The year is AD 533. Nearly six decades have passed since the fall of the Western Roman Empire, and the once-unified Roman world remains fractured. The ancient provinces of the West have fallen under the rule of barbarian kingdoms, while cities, roads, and institutions that once formed the backbone of Roman civilisation have declined into an age of uncertainty.

Yet in Constantinople, a new vision has emerged.

The Eastern Roman Emperor Justinian I refuses to accept the permanent loss of the western provinces. Inspired by the glory of Imperial Rome, he has embarked upon one of history’s most ambitious military and political projects: the Renovatio Imperii—the Restoration of the Roman Empire.

The first great campaign has already begun.

Under the command of the brilliant General Belisarius, the armies of the Eastern Roman Empire have crossed the Mediterranean and landed upon the shores of North Africa. Their objective is clear: to destroy the Vandal Kingdom, restore Roman authority to the wealthy African provinces, and secure the Empire’s western flank.

Africa, however, is only the beginning.

Beyond the sea lies Italy, the ancient heartland of the Roman Empire, now ruled by the Ostrogoths. Further west, the Visigoths dominate Hispania, while other Germanic kingdoms maintain their hold over lands that were once governed from Rome itself. Justinian’s ambition is nothing less than the restoration of Imperial rule across the Mediterranean—a campaign that will demand extraordinary military skill, political resolve, and immense sacrifice.

Will the Empire once again unite the Roman world beneath the Imperial Eagle, or will the dream of restoration be extinguished forever?
