Description:
ResFlow – Resource & Logistics Visualization

For Songs of Syx V71
GitHub[github.com]

See where resources go. ResFlow adds two overlays to visualize stockpiles and hauling flows, plus quick filtering so you can focus on one resource or whole chains.

Adds: Storage Overlay • Flow Tracker Overlay • Resource filter bar • Analytics panels

Script auto-activates, new save NOT required.

This is my attempt at creating a visual flow of all logistics in your map. I wanted to see immediately where things were, and where they were going. It adds visual overlays similar to those that already exist in the game, except with animated arrows / storage overlays,

Quick Start
  • Two new buttons appear below the minimap.
  • Click Storage Overlay or Flow Tracker to enable.
  • A resource filter bar appears when an overlay is active.
  • Hover a resource to filter, or left-click to lock one or more resources.

Overlays

Flow Tracker

  • Shows producers/consumers/storage for the selected resource.
  • Draws arrows/paths to show direction, and optional bottleneck/heatmap views.
  • Particles are the easiest way to read flow type (their color indicates the movement type).
  • Active haulers update periodically

Storage Overlay

  • Highlights stockpiles by how full they are.
  • Shows what’s stored

How flows, arrows & particles work

What counts as a “flow”

  • ResFlow visualizes where resources are being hauled between rooms/stockpiles.
  • If nothing is currently moving, you may see fewer arrows/particles.

Room colors (Flow Tracker)

  • Green = Production
  • Red = Consumption
  • Blue = Storage
  • Yellow = Both

Arrows / paths

  • Arrows show direction along hauling paths.
  • At far zoom the path indicators are intentionally simplified, so particles are usually the easiest way to read “what kind of flow” you’re looking at.

Particles (what they mean)

  • Particles are the clearest flow-type indicator: their color tells you what kind of movement it is.
  • More visible particles generally means a route is busier.
  • Particle colors:
    • Green-Cyan = Production → Storage
    • Red-Orange = Storage → Consumption
    • Yellow = Production → Consumption
    • Light Blue = Storage → Storage
  • You can disable particles if you prefer a cleaner view.

Filtering & Toggles
  • Expand the filter bar (Question Mark) for common toggles:
    • Room Colors / Flow Paths
    • Resource Chains (view full production chain)
    • Logistics Heatmap / Show Bottlenecks
    • Efficiency Colors
    • Analytics Panel / Advanced Analytics
    • Config Panel (in-game sliders)

Colors (Flow Tracker)
  • Green = Production
  • Red = Consumption
  • Blue = Storage
  • Yellow = Both

Analytics Panel

Opens when "Analytics Panel" toggle is enabled. Shows detailed statistics for the selected/hovered resource.

Advanced Analytics Panel

Controls
  • Toggle overlays: minimap buttons
  • Filter by resource: hover icons in horizontal bar
  • Lock filter: left-click icons (multi-select)
  • Room-focused filter: hold Shift and hover a room (uses the game’s Undo keybind; default is typically Shift)

Configuration

ResFlow uses defaults unless you edit the config file or save settings from the in-game Config Panel.

Notes
  • Performance depends on settlement size and enabled features (heatmap/haulers are heavier).
