Immersive Custom Flashlight
Can’t find the right flashlight mod? Flashlight feeling too stiff, flat, or glued to your camera? Well, I bring you ICFL, the ultimate flashlight customizability mod.
Immersive Custom Flashlight replaces the default GMod flashlight with a customizable clientside projected flashlight built for horror, exploration, bodycam, cinematic gameplay, and immersive first-person experiences.
The goal is simple:
Make the flashlight feel like something your character is actually holding!
- Replaces the default GMod flashlight with a fully customizable projected flashlight
- Works with the normal flashlight key, custom keybinds, Mouse 4 / Mouse 5, and other weapons
- Adjustable brightness, FOV, range, color, shadows, position, textures, and Lightspill
- Spring smoothing, inertia, sway, breathing, sprint bob, fear shake, and bodycam / free-aim movement
- Optional battery system with drain, reloads, low-power effects, HUD, and pickup entity
- Optional VManip, WebKnight, third-person, vehicle, and experimental multiplayer support
- Wall detection, startup flicker, toggle sounds, keep-on-death, and stock flashlight blocking
- Presets, category reset buttons, cleaner menus, and Cy’s Recommended Settings
- Compatibility fixes for menus, typing, Wiremod keyboards, VManip hooks, and other edge cases
- I promise you there won’t be much you can’t customize about your flashlight!
- Compressed alternate flashlight textures, thanks to fran
- Full Lightspill support using textures from fran
- Separate Lightspill settings category
- Lightspill texture preset dropdown
- Lightspill size, brightness, FOV, range, color, and offset controls
- Updated Cy’s Recommended Settings preset
- Improved menu layout for a cleaner user experience
- Typing / Wiremod keyboard input compatibility fix
- Stronger VManip compatibility guard for addons that accidentally restore the default VManip flashlight
- Additional bug fixes and compatibility improvements
v1.2 adds an optional battery system for players who want a more survival-horror style flashlight. When enabled, the flashlight can drain over time, dim or flicker when weak, and be refilled with spare batteries.
Reloading can briefly cut the light out and bring it back with a small flicker, giving it more of a physical flashlight feel. The system also includes an optional HUD, reload key support, reload sound support, and a battery pickup entity. The battery system is optional and disabled by default.
v1.2 adds optional VManip flashlight animation support. This lets Immersive Custom Flashlight use VManip animations while still keeping this addon’s custom projected light, smoothing, bodycam behavior, color, brightness, FOV, range, texture, and other settings. Supported modes include [VManip] Default Flashlight and [VManip] Flashlight by WebKnight.
WebKnight support also includes an experimental held-flashlight follow system. After the animation finishes, the flashlight model attempts to follow Immersive Custom Flashlight’s custom beam direction so the hand and light feel closer together. This is a Lua bone-manipulation fake, not a fully custom compiled animation rig, but it allows wrist-style left/right and up/down movement that feels much more natural with bodycam/free-aim mode. VManip support is optional and disabled by default.
Immersive Custom Flashlight is mainly clientside, but v1.2 includes optional experimental multiplayer visibility. If the server has the addon installed, players can optionally send simplified flashlight state to other players.
Other players will see a simplified third-person flashlight beam using your on/off state, aim direction, color, brightness, FOV, and range. VManip hand animations remain local-only. This feature is experimental, disabled by default, and safely does nothing if the server does not support it.
Bodycam mode lets the flashlight move independently from the center of your camera before the view catches up. Instead of being perfectly glued to your crosshair, the beam can drift, lag, and feel more like something your character is physically holding.
Great for horror maps, bodycam-style gameplay, exploration, found-footage setups, cinematic scenes, and immersive first-person roleplay.

This addon is designed mainly for singleplayer and clientside use.
Experimental multiplayer visibility requires the server to have the addon installed.
This addon may conflict with other flashlight replacement addons, weapon flashlight systems, projected-light addons, or VManip flashlight addons.
VManip compatibility, WebKnight support, multiplayer visibility, battery systems, and the empty-hands bridge are optional and disabled by default.
