Description:

This mod is aimed at tweaking Meritocratic Khanate to be somewhat more distinct, as well as making it easier for a nomad to become a Meritocratic Khanate

Meritocratic Khanate Changes
  • MKs can now still go on Nerge hunts, allowing them to more easily generate dread and make use of their 150 dread cap and retention of obedience mechanics
  • MKs get a new default pillage intent aclled "Expedition," which returns 100% gold and 10% dread per loot
  • Expedition raids raid 20% faster, suffer 20% less attrition, and move 10% faster, to compensate for the loss of the Nomadic Capital bonuses.
  • MKs now convert only 85% (same as Byzantine Administrative, instead of Celestial/Meritocratic’s 95%) of their income to treasury, giving them more gold to work with
  • MKs can now, like nomads, declare war with raised armies

Adopt Meritocratic Khanate Decision Changes
  • If you have at least one of the Overseer, Architect, Administrator, or Scholar traits, you can take the decision with only High (level 3) Dominance and whilst only fully controlling 1 kingdom instead of 3. The kingdom will still need to fulfill the requirement of having a capital barony contains a castle, city, temple, or temple citadel. The other requirements (culture head, cost, etc.) remain the same
  • Originally wanted this to be if your culture had the Bureaucratic or Ceremonial ethos, the way having Bureaucratic would let you take the "become administrative" decision regardless of how small your kingdom is, but there isn’t a single Turkic or Mongolic culture that has either one of those ethos, so…
  • The AI is still guaranteed to take the decision if it can if it holds an Empire. In the case a kingdom-tier AI nomad fully seizes a settled kingdom adjacent a merit-using realm, they are unlikely (35%) to take the decision if they have one of the relevant traits, and will never take the decision if they have conqueror
  • By default, taking the MK decision would also give you an empire-tier no-dejure "the [culture] empire" title, which I did not like. I assume this was to be in line with how Liao (1066) and Jin (1178) were represented using no-dejure empire titles. Regardless, now when you take the decision you will not be receiving the new title. If you want an Empire you’ll have to form it one of the usual ways.
