Description:

"Whoever governs Singapore must have that iron in him. Or give it up." – Lee Kuan Yew

Towering over the bay of the Singapore Strait which lends the building its name, the Marina Bay Sands is one of the largest and most iconic resort complexes in Singapore. In addition to the three main hotel towers and the rooftop "skypark" complex spanning the length of all three, Marina Bay Sands also includes everything from museums and science exhibits to casinos, and from theatres to floating pavilons. The unique shape of the towers was initially inspired by card decks, with the resort’s architecture and major design changes along the way approved by feng shui consultants throughout construction. The complex’s skypark is the world’s largest public cantilevered platform, with an overhang of 66.5 metres, while the pool is the world’s longest elevated swimming pool at 146 metres long. The pools are made up of 191 metric tonnes of stainless steel and can hold 1.4 million litres of water.

Building the Marina Bay Sands requires Globalization, and causes trade routes from a city with a Hotel to provide an additional +5 Gold when connecting to another civilization, and provides a free Hotel in the city where it is built.
