Lotus Temple Wonder
The Lotus Temple is a Baha’i house of worship located in New Delhi, India, a massive white marble-clad structure in the shape of a giant lotus flower. One of New Delhi’s most prominent attractions, the Lotus Temple welcomes visitors of all faiths, as all Baha’i houses of worship do, and sees over 3.5 million visitors per year. Constructed over a period of 10 years by Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba, opened to the public in 1987, and described by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson as "one of the most remarkable achievements of our time, proving that the drive and vision of spirit can achieve miracles", the Lotus Temple is a true wonder of the modern age.
