Description:

The 5000 Series (5000形) is an EMU operated by Odakyu Electric Railway on commuter services between Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture.
The newest generation of commuter rolling stock on the Odakyu network, the 5000 series features a wider car to improve passenger comfort and ease congestion. A total of 12 10-car formations (120 cars) had been introduced to service since 2019, with production of the series ongoing. The 5000 series operate mainly as express trains on Odakyu’s Odawara, Enoshima, and Tama Lines.

Max Pax: 2436

10 Car

Max Speed: 120km/h
Max Pax: 3035
In Service: 2020-

Maximum design speed is used, operational speed are 100km/h on Odakyu Lines. Capacity is calculated using 200% crush as Tokyo’s commuter lines frequently reach (and exceed) these levels.
