1.3 Faster Expansion

Welcome to Faster Expansion! This mod significantly overhauls how you manage your growing empire, bringing fresh balance to location integration, fort limits, subject interactions, and internal development. Whether you are expanding rapidly or building tall, this mod gives you the tools you need to manage your realm effectively without unnecessary frustration.


🌍 Location Integration Status Changes

Integrating newly conquered lands is now a more distinct process with realistic penalties for freshly conquered locations, better control on integrated provinces and massive control for fully core territories.

  • Conquered: -10% Max Control, +50% Separatism, -10% Cultural Assimilation Speed, -10% Religious Conversion Speed, -0.5% Garrison Growth.
  • Integrated: +20% Max Control, +0.1 Monthly Control, +10% Separatism.
  • Core: +40% Max Control, +0.2 Monthly Control, Primary Culture Population Growth enabled, Owner gains Vision while occupied.


🏰 Complete Fort Overhaul

Say goodbye to endless AI fort spam! Forts are now highly strategic and strictly regulated to ensure better performance and less tedious late-game warfare.

  • Strict Empire Limit: You can only build 1 Fort per 3 Provinces you own +1 base value for every country + advances. Location ranks and country ranks no longer provide bonus fort limits.
  • Capital Restricted: Fortifications can exclusively be constructed on Province Capitals.
  • Smart AI Cleanup: If an AI country goes over their fort limit, they will automatically delete excess forts over time until they are compliant.


📜 New Government Reform: Land Administration

Designed as a powerful counterpart to Harbour Administration, this new reform gives inland, land-focused empires the tools they need to develop their country efficiently.

  • Requirements: Available from the Age of Traditions. Requires land-focused societal values. Cannot be taken by pop-type or building-type countries.
  • Duration: Lasts 2 years per activation cycle.
  • Country Effects: +1 Local Governor Capacity and increased monthly shifts toward land-focused societal values.
  • Inland Province Effects: Grants +10% Local Monthly Development Growth and +20% Local Proximity Speed to all non-coastal provinces.


⚖️ New Estate Privileges

Two powerful new estate privileges have been added, allowing you to specialize in cultural or religious integration at the cost of empowering the respective estate and slowing stability growth.

  • Peasants – Cultural Autonomy: Grants +50% Population Cultural Assimilation Speed. In return, the Peasants gain +100% Estate Power and your country suffers -10% Stability Investment.
  • Clergy – Divine Authority: Grants +50% Population Religious Conversion Speed. In return, the Clergy gain +100% Estate Power and your country suffers -10% Stability Investment.


🏛️ Cabinet Actions

Cabinet tasks are now drastically faster, allowing you to manage your internal affairs with unprecedented speed.

  • Faster Cabinet Actions: Integration, Culture Assimilation, Religion Conversion, Settling Tribesmen and Increase Control actions have been buffed.


🪑 Expanded Cabinets

Eliminate the frustration of trying to run a vast empire with an undersized government.

  • Tier 3 Countries: All Tier 3 countries now receive +1 Cabinet Seat, giving you the extra bandwidth needed to govern effectively.


👑 Subject Diplomacy

Managing your subjects is now significantly less restrictive, removing arbitrary waiting periods while keeping loyalty relevant.

  • Instant Demands: The 10-year subject age requirement has been completely removed.
  • No Cooldowns: The cooldowns for Enforce Religion and Enforce Culture are reduced to 0 years. You can enforce these immediately as long as your subject’s Loyalty and Liberty Desire meet the normal requirements.
  • Rapid Annexation: Subject Annexation speed has been increased.


🛤️ Road Proximity Buffs

Roads have been significantly buffed to ensure your proximity extends much further inland, helping you maintain control over massive contiguous land empires.

  • Gravel Road: 25 Proximity (Vanilla: 20)
  • Paved Road: 30 Proximity (Vanilla: 25)
  • Modern Road: 35 Proximity (Vanilla: 30)
  • Railroad: 40 Proximity (Vanilla: 35)


🎭 Cultural Assimilation Penalties Rework

Cultural integration has been streamlined by removing class-based assimilation penalties that previously slowed down cultural conversion for certain population groups such as tribesmen.

  • Removed Assimilation Penalties: All population classes now assimilate at the full base rate.
  • Faster Cultural Integration: Nobles, Clergy, Burghers, Laborers, Soldiers, and Tribesmen no longer suffer reduced assimilation rates.
  • Religious Conversion Recommended: Some populations may assimilate very slowly or not at all unless they first share the state religion just like vanilla. Converting religion before culture is now considerably more effective.
