Description:

A Ptolemaic Egypt submod for Divide et Impera, expanding the dynasty’s roster, buildings and faction flavour around its real history. Requires the full DEI mod; load above DEI. This is the English-text version – a Chinese version is also available (enable only one of the two).

New Units
  • Legion of Aigyptos – native Egyptian armoured infantry after Raphia, with Roman-style scutum and pilum, mail mixed with Meroitic iron armour
  • Ptolemaic Cataphracts – fully armoured shock cavalry; unlocked as an upgrade of the Linokataphractoi after the second military reform (Thorax reform)
  • Ptolemaic Armoured War Elephants – armoured giants from the Red Sea hunting stations
  • Basilissa’s Longbow Guard – female longbow guards of the inner palace
  • Ptolemaic Amazon Horse Archers – a female horse-archer guard
  • League Hoplites – citizen heavy infantry from the Aegean league cities
  • Mercenary barracks chain: Thracian Noble Cavalry, Thracian Elite Warriors, Arab Horse Archers, Nubian Archers

Reworked Units
  • Late Ptolemaic Sacred Squadron: Tyrian purple and scarlet cloaks with matching undertunics
  • Galatian Thureos Spears: Celtic mix of linothorax, leather and cloth
  • Several Ptolemaic cavalry units renamed and rebalanced (Thessalian Squadron, Macedonian Squadron, Royal Companion Cavalry, etc.)
  • Custom unit cards for all new units

Buildings & Faction
  • Ptolemaic Palace Quarter (tier-5 capital building)
  • Mercenary camp building chain (tiers 2-4)
  • Temple lines of Thoth, Aphrodite and Serapis
  • Adjusted Ptolemaic faction trait and army tradition (Army of Alexander)

Fully integrated with the DEI population system and military reform scripts. Note: this mod overrides DEI’s units.lua and the reform unit lists – do not run it together with other reform submods (e.g. Epirus DEI Reforms).

Save compatibility: new units and buildings work in ongoing campaigns; a fresh campaign is recommended for the full experience.
