Revived

Brought back to life, better than ever after 5 years!

Remastered

Tweaked some questionable parts of the mod that were straight up misses by the original author. A good example is the Cellar no longer being a neon blue. The changes subdivide into:

  • Heavily Edited / ReDone From The Ground Up
  • Missing (original didn’t alter anything)
  • Slightly Changed
  • Removed

Heavily Edited / ReDone

Basement:
Toned down the overly dark filter, softened the godrays, and added a subtle cave mist

Cellar:
Replaced the neon blue clouds with atmospheric dust, softened godrays, and a dark mist

Catacombs:
Replaced the bloody atmosphere with dense sulfurous clouds and a claustrophobic vignette

Gehenna:
Reworked the fog into a pale white mist

Sheol:
Reduced the excessive brightness while preserving the original atmosphere

Missing (Newly Added)

Blue Womb:
Added underwater caustics and a dark blue fog

Dross:
Added recolored underwater atmospherics inspired by Downpour

Mines:
Added an intense burning atmosphere

Ashpit:
Added gray smoke and a lifeless fog to simulate the aftermath of a fire

Mausoleum:
Added a subtle gray mist

Scarred Womb:
Added the watery overlay from the Utero

Chest:
Added dusty brown clouds

Home:
Added a faint white mist

Slightly Changed

Burning Basement:
Fixed the wall fire so it no longer looks like misplaced pixels

Caves:
Removed the white spot overlay that made the screen look unnecessarily dirty

Womb:
Toned down the excessively thick base fogs to sit better with the vanilla aesthetic

Removed

Corpse:
Removed the grotesque grids. They were far too much, even for a game like this

Womb:
Removed the custom walls. They were overly detailed and didn’t fit the game’s art style

I’m very open to suggestions in order to build this mod for the better!
