T/A-30 Compass J-3098
After the creation of the T-38 trainer, Northrop went on to make the F-5 Tiger as a light fighter for export markets. The Schweizer Luftwaffe bought about 100 of them, and later upgraded them to the F-5E with the new shark nose. Still in service today, only 19 remain, most of them having been retired in 2017, and 6 still serving with the Patrouille Suisse.
This tailcode, J-3098, is on exposition at the Flieger Flab Museum in Zürich, after having been retired from the Swiss Airforce in 2015.
I was debating between making this a de Havilland Vampire, or a Northrop F-5E, but ended up with the more interesting Tiger II.
thank you to the Nuclear Option livery walkthrough, both for the guide and the templates!!
