Magi Finder
Magi Finder adds a dedicated mage search window to Godherja, making it much easier to find magis around you.
With this new interface, you can:
• Find magi within your diplomatic range.
• Sort them however you like (+ NEW : by the strength of their magi traits ! ).
• Filter them however you like (+ NEW : by their learned school of magi ! ).
• View a selected magi’s known spells directly from the interface.
No more manually checking dozens of characters to find the magi you’re looking for.
After spending quite a lot of time playing Godherja, I found myself repeatedly running into the same problem: finding magi and spell practitioners was always more difficult than it needed to be.
Across multiple campaigns, I often wished there was a simple way to locate magi characters around me and sort them according to their magical abilities.
Eventually, I decided to build that system myself.
Since CK3 does not currently allow modders to add new filters to the vanilla Character Finder, I had to create an entirely separate window. Since I was already making a new interface, I took the opportunity to tailor it specifically for magi and magical gameplay.
The Magi Finder can be opened using the new button located directly below the vanilla Character Finder button.
The interface is designed to work almost exactly like the standard Character Finder:
• Dropdown menus are used to sort and filter characters.
• Navigation and usage should feel familiar to anyone who has used the vanilla finder.
Some Character Finder features have not yet been implemented:
• Saved filter presets.
• Search bar functionality.
While a search bar is probably possible to implement, I did not have enough time to include it in the current version. It may be added in a future update.
To reduce performance impact, the finder only displays magi who are within the player’s diplomatic range. This behavior may change in future versions depending on performance testing and user feedback.
Important:
This mod is currently not compatible with other mods that modify the hud.gui file.
In practice, this means that most mods that alter the main game interface or HUD may conflict with Magi Finder.
When I have more time available, I may improve compatibility by adopting an approach similar to the one used by Advanced Character Search.

A huge thank you to the CK3 Mod Co-op Discord community!
Without their help, I would never have been able to create this mod. I’m still a beginner when it comes to modding, and whenever I had questions or ran into problems, people on the server were always willing to help and point me in the right direction.
Their knowledge, patience, and friendliness made this project possible.
So if you ever happen to join the server, please be kind to them, they’re an amazing community and deserve all the appreciation they can get!
Thank you all for helping me bring Magi Finder to life.
This mod was created to solve a very specific issue I encountered while playing Godherja. If you have suggestions, bug reports, or ideas for additional magi-related filters, feel free to leave a comment.
I hope it makes your experience a little easier !
