Slower Recovery
Slow down the overall health recovery rate to x0.05, down from the default x0.25, for a slightly more realistic and consequential injury recovery time.
Multipliers for medic job and bed/bedroll are unaltered.
A lighter version (x0.125) is available here.
Beds and bedrolls are now vital to keep your characters in shape after experiencing serious injuries.
A badly injured character (with limbs/organs nearby the negative/positive health threshold) will need a couple days to recover in a bed (1 HP / ~20m), about a week in a bedroll (1 HP / ~1h20), and about two weeks otherwise (1HP / ~3h).
This makes sustained injuries genuinely impactful, instead of a mere annoyance unrealistically solved under a day. You may need to leave your incapacited character(s) in a safe place to rest while the party go on with its next adventure, trading run or tech hunt.
And if there’s nowhere safe nearby to rest, it means you’ll have to be on the run with wounded member(s) to take care of, until you reach a hospital/inn/outpost, making your journey more precarious overall.
