Description:
This mod makes the combat less clunky, more fluent and realistic by removing the showy but ridiculous combat animations. Just like in the good ol’ Total War games of the old engine (like Medieval 2 or Rome I).

Since the new engine was introduced to the Total War series, and the "matched combat" system with it, the battles feel really clunky and uncanny, with soldiers "sliding", nonsense 1vs1 duels during massive engagements and no unit collision.
Luckily it can be fixed with some adjustments!

– Soldiers will no longer "mix" with each other whilst charging
– Soldiers will no longer lock on each other to perform showy but pointless attacks
– Soldiers will gang up on others, making 1 vs 2+ fights much more common
– Soldiers will no longer duel with each other 1 vs 1
– Soldiers no more "fly" through the battlefield after being knocked out
– Soldiers now perform attacks more often
– Soldiers get up quicker after being knocked out

This mod is by no means perfect – the combat can’t look 100% realistic and fluent with the current engine…
Still, it’s an attempt to achieve as much as possible in that matter.

Not compatible with other combat mods.

I know that there already exists a very similiar Matched Combat Be Gone mod by Archimonday-Schtz, and while I really appreciate his work, I felt like it wasn’t quite enough. Neverless, don’t hesitate to check it out too.

I am still not 100% satisfied with this mod and I will seek to improve it further.
