Note: Flickering side textures have been fixed.

I’ve always wondered – Why hunt or raise Livestock when it’s just so easy to build gigantic greenhouses, or wait out until hydroponics and go full vegetarian? Well, this mod seeks to remedy just that. Introducing Grilled Meals!

Firstly, let’s talk about the new workbench: The grill!

Grills are small, come in both fueled and electrical forms, and are meant to blend seamlessly when placed next to an oven. While functioning, they will use fuel or electricity and will generate heat over time, make sure your kitchens are climate controlled! Keep in mind cooking on a grill outdoors does not suffer a penalty.

These workbenches allow you to create a new set of meals – Grilled meals. Grilled meals function very similarly to regular meals, except have a few things added.

* Grilled meals require more ingredients – Mostly meat and a small amount of vegetable matter.
* Grilled meals take slightly longer to cook than non-grilled versions and require slightly more skill.
* Grilled meals all (even simple) provide a positive moodlet, slightly higher than non-grilled versions.
* Grilled meals all provide the "well nourished" health condition. For 0.5/1/1.5/2 days, providing a 20% pain resistance buff, a 10% manipulation, and 10% speed buff.

These meals are perfect for tanky, front-line pawns who are meant to absorb damage. Scarfing down one before a raid could be the difference between life and death.

Finally, one last thing – There is a 4th tier grillable meal – Gourmet.

These are absolutely huge banquets. Only extremely talented chefs in high-end work conditions should try creating one. They require a massive amount of ingredients and nearly a day-long shift in the kitchen, but in return they are the most powerful meals and make 10 at a time. These are intended to counteract very bad mood-altering events such as psychic screeches or raids where many people are lost.

This concludes my second modding attempt, a third and final (and very simple) food-related mod will be upcoming soon.

HUGE shoutout to C4Logger for alpha testing this mod. I have no doubts this mod will need several bug fixes and balance tweaks, please don’t hesitate to leave recommendations below.
