Description:

Do you think it’s weird that heroes duel by poking each other? Does the heart attack rate among your men make you question the competency of your trainers? Do you want to take cool screenshots? Then boy do I have a mod for you.

This mod changes the chance for matched combat to 100% for all infantry engagements. Hero vs hero duels, hero vs unit, and unit vs unit battles will now always play matched combat animations if possible. This doesn’t completely eliminate heart failure and bizarre weapon waving, but it drastically reduces it overall. As a side effect, it also makes dismemberment more common and generally makes battles more bloody.

This does somewhat reduce the effectiveness of individual heroes against large groups of enemies and probably adversely effects dynasty mode, because the heroes kill individual models instead of dealing AOE damage with generic attacks. But boy does it look cool!

Technical Bits
This mod changes the following five lines in kv_rules:

matched_combat_hero_vs_hero_infantry_percentage matched_combat_hero_vs_unit_percentage matched_combat_min_hitpoints_to_initiate matched_combat_min_hitpoints_whilst_active matched_combat_percentage matched_combat_unit_vs_hero_percentage

Compatibility
The lines above are overridden, so this mod should be loaded after any other mods that change the kv_rules table to ensure that it works properly. Be especially wary of battle overhauls, mods that slow down or speed up battles, and mods that change things about duels.

Obviously this mod is incompatible with other mods that change matched combat chances.
