Alastar the White Lion

Alastar the White Lion, also known as the "Defender of the Phoenix Throne" or more rarely "The Slayer of Achlan" is the current bodyguard of the Phoenix King Finubar Seafarer.

Alastar is not your common White Lion of Chrace, for many of the inhabitants of Ulthuan does not seem to recognize him or know him at all. His tales and exploits in Ulthuan are often just passed on as tavern stories or gossips by the local nobles and princes, yet the truth often resides within the White Lions that has survived battles along Alastar. The truth is that Alastar is reclusive, but a well deserved hero of the people. Very few has lived to tell the tale of his dauntless courage on the field of battle against Ulthuans many enemies. But those that do tell of Alastar and his cohorts of White Lions has won battles with not just sheer force of arms, but courage that could only be described as reckless fervor. It is said that Alastar hair may take shape of golden colors that seem to form the shape of a golden lion’s mane during most perilious battles as well as most glorious victories.

Alastar is not just a Hero, but a Hero with a great heart. Because although he may be reserved, reclusive and a stern aspect in battle, once approached he speaks kindly and lets observers witness his kind and gentle smile with pure and honest intentions.

Alastar was born in one of the few spots on Chrace that is not a wartorn wasteland, the Amaranth Isles that is in close proximity to the Shrine of Kurnous residing in the utmost upper corner of the province. Being the son of a Chracian border parton captain, Phevensy, Alastar was brought up hearing wild stories of war and tragedies. Getting the grasp of how grave the situation of Ulthaun really is, it did not take him long before mastering the Woodsman’s Axe became of highest imporance. As the years passed he witnessed many skirmishes and conflicts with raiding parties of the Dark Elves which taught Alastar what the druchii’s cruel methods are truly capable of. His exploits on the battlefiend did not go unnoticed as he eventually got the opportunity to become a warrior of the White Lions. Entrusted with an axe and a noble mission to best a War Lion in combat, he set out on a perilious quest to find a mighty beast to wear as the famed iconic armour of the White Lions. This however, was going to change his lifeforever.

Making his way up the forested paths, finding a War Lion in these mountains was a very difficult task. Alastar had to spend weeks upon weeks to find a worthy lion to defeat in combat. However, one faithful day while battling a cockatrice which had migrated from the Annulii mountains from the south proved to be a mighty foe to best. Alastar eventually clashed with the monster and cut off its wing. The beast breathed its last as it crashlanded on the mountain pass which open up a curious passage inside. Peaking Alastars curiousity he made his way into the lair with axe in hand. Inside the dark and forboding lair was a mighty Lion, coated with a large golden colored mane and a holden furred tail. The beast seemed uninterested to fight Alastar and, in an odd twist of events, they sat down and had a telepathic conversation with eachother as Achlan possessed wisdom and kindness that does not exist by normal War Lions. Alastar got to learn a great many things from the beast. The lion was named Achlan and was the single only living ancestor of his kind and was at his last days on the mortal world. Achlan seemed captivated by Alastars great heart to spare Achlan’s life, despite his efforts to find a beast to slay in the name of his duty. As the hour grew grow short, Achlan decided to honor Alastar’s quest to sacrifice himself willingly to him. But on one condition, that he was to wear his pelt for the rest of his life and only take it off, should death take him. Alastar displayed no signs to deny his noble request witnessed Achlans life fade into unlife and his fur turning white. Alastar then skinned and beheaded his lifeless body and displayed it to the Chracian court. Alastar had completed his quest as a White Lion of Chrace and has earned a legendary status within the brotherhood of the White Lions of Chrace.

The White Lion regiment that Alastar served was sent out on many fierce battles that many chracian warriors would find absolutely horrifying. Yet his regiment was never truly beaten in battle. So fierce was his brothers in arms that they never was able to be beaten in battle, despite countless casualties. The spirit of Achlan has aided Alastar and his Chracian warriors into victories that was expected to be heavy losses. Alastar’s battle regiment eventually reached the Gaean vale for patrol orders. There on that one faithful day he came into contact with the Everqueen, Alarielle. Alarielle could see the spirit of Achlan protecting Alastar’s mortal body and as such Alarielle with joy invited Alastar to her promenade in Gaean vale. Alarielle on the spot blessed his Lion pelt, ensuring that Achlans spirit wont fade with time. This of course made Tyrion so jealous that Alastar and Tyrion never converse. From this day onwards, warriors spoke of the of the Golden Mane warrior, as Alarielles blessing not only increased the lifespan of Achlans spiritual presence but also increased his powers.

It was this small rumor that reached Finubar, the Phoenix King, that eventually lead to Alastar proving himself as the Bodyguard of the Phoenix King and was entrusted with the mysterious axe, The Ruby Splitter, in hopes of uncovering its mysterious existance. The survivors of the regiment that Alastar served speak of his legendary valor in battle that has turned the tide of battles and inspired them into higher spirits. Alastar coronation as the Defender of the Phoenix Throne was not a public or widespread ordeal and it was a quick ceremony within closed doors. Alastar fortiunantely, prefered it this way.

From this day onward we eventually reach the current time of the game. Alastar now serves under the command of the Phoenix Throne and may aid Tyrion in his efforts to unify Ulthuan. Despite their them having a complicated relationship, Tyrion does not deny able bodied warriors that has even been coronated by the Phoenix King and blessed by Alarielle. Alastar bring’s his battle brothers of White Lions of Chrace to the battlefield as he will
prove to everyone what they are truly capable of under his command.
