New race: the Rylotl
Long before the Hylotl became aquatic, katana-loving, arrogant aristocrats, a mysterious alien invader captured a number of their species and planted them as indentured labor on a colony world. It is unknown exactly why, but historians believe it was because of the adaptability of their genome. This proved to be a grave error, as the slave colonists eventually adapted to and conquered their own environment. Achieving independence both as a society and a species, they took on the name Rylotl to differentiate and distinguish themselves as unique yet equal to their aquatic cousins.
More history and lore to come.

New weapon type: Smallswords
Smallswords are the culmination of all armed martial arts in western/european history. They are the most agile yet lethal of all swords and were used up until the early 20th century. Offspring of the rapier, they traded length and cutting power for agility and killing power. Utilizing no brute strength, these weapons were wielded with wit and cunning. Their design stems from the simple realization that cuts wound, but stabs kill. I am proud to introduce these light and cerebral weapons to Starbound.
Ingame, expect the smallsword to behave similarly to the rapier. Key differences are that the smallsword will be faster, have a shorter combo, and a higher critical chance, but will never feature cutting strikes and loses some range. Also, the animations are much more realistic and the strikes much more precise.
*Currently only available to the Rylotl race.
