Description:

This is my first major mod for CK2: Expanded Heresies! This mod fixes religion names/roles and adds 19 new heresies to the game and 5 new religions. (Warning: This mod is currently only available in English!)

This mod is still very much new and I have almost no experience in modding to this scale, so there is still much room for improvement. There are many plans to add more heresies where possible, altering the religions in provinces for different start dates along with bookmarks and much more.

The following religions and heresies have been modified:
Lollard (Renamed to Lollardy)
Germanic (Renamed to Norse)
Ibadi and Kharijite (Ibadi is now a heresy of Kharijite, making Kharijite the parent religion)
Waldensian (Currently working on this one, but I’m going to add new mechanics to it)
Cathar (-25% fertility)
Jewish (Renamed to Judaist)
Manichean (Renamed to Manichaean)
Zikri (Removed: Realistically titled Mahdavia, it was created long after CK2’s timeline)

The 19 new heresies include:
Hussite (Catholic)*
Marcion (Catholic)
Pelagian (Catholic)
Patripassian (Catholic)
Arian (Orthodox)
Monarchian (Orthodox)
Pneumatomachi (Orthodox)
Mandaean (Nestorian)
Dyophysite (Miaphysite)
Messian (Jewish)
Qadariya (Sunni)
Mu’tazilite (Sunni)
Alawite (Shia)
Isma’ilist (Shia)*
Nizari (Shia)*
Zaydi (Shia)
Sufri (Kharijite)
Zurvan (Zoroastrian)
Khurramite (Zoroastrian)*

The 5 new religions include:
Ajivika (Jain)*
Charvaka (Hindu)*
Bori (Central Africa)
Daju (East Africa)
Mun (Bhutan)

* Many mechanical changes and/or events will be added to these heresies.

I expect this mod’s competion to take a lot of time, and if anyone would be volunteering to help such as with localisation or additional mechanics, then feel free to make new discussion posts or comments! If you really appreciate this mod and/or feeling really generous, then feel free to donate any resources that I could use like GFX, or leave a thanks, and thank you as well for subscribing!

Most recent update (05/09/19):
-Four new heresies added
-Two new placeholder game rules for future scripting events
-Narbonne is Cathar from as early 1147 instead of 1150
-Dhofar in Oman is now always Ibadi, a historical and geographical fix
-Dozens of provinces with new religions

Last major update: Succession
The death of Mohammed created a schism as to who should be his rightful successor, dividing Islam into the sects of Sunni, Kharijite and Shi’a. The most turbulent of the three is the Shi’ite sect with many several succession crises and schools form creating a further political divide, with the Fiver Zaydis in Maghreb and Yemen, the Sevener Qarmatians in Arabia, the Isma’ilists in Egypt and the Nizari assassins in Persia. The Kharijites split into many cultural groups, such as the Sufris; however, they were very short-lived and only Ibadi continues to exist today, becoming more prevalent than the Kharijites. The Sunnis had some theological conflicts with the Mu’tazilites and Qadariyas, but was overall the most stable. Meanwhile, the stability of the Catholic church is being threatened by 3 groups: the Albigenians, the Waldensians and the Hussites.
