NOTE: requires B41 (IWBUMS) version of the game. Has NOT BEEN TESTED IN stable release v. 40

Right click Project Zomboid in your Steam library and hit “Properties”. Then, navigate to the betas tab and select the “iwillbackupmysave” branch from the dropdown menu.

What does the mod do?

The mod adds battery longevity to Flashlight, Hand Torch, and Lamp on Pillar.
Radios are untouched.

  • Flashlight battery consumption rate is now 0,00003 (default 0,0009).
  • Hand Torch battery consumption rate is now 0,00004 (default 0,0004)
  • Lamp on Pillar battery consumption rate is now 0.000001 (default is 0.00001)

For example: by default a Flashlight lasts about 4,5 in-game hours until fully depleted. With this mod Flashlight will deplete at a rate of roughly 17% over 24 hours, meaning the battery will last almost 6 full days non-stop.

Future?

Adding longevity to indoor / outdoor lamps (lightbulbs) is not possible at the moment.

FAQ

Q: The mod is not working!
A: Make sure you are playing on the B41 (IWBUMS) version of the game. Right click Project Zomboid in your Steam library and hit “Properties”. Then, navigate to the betas tab and select the “iwillbackupmysave” branch from the dropdown menu. Mod has not been tested in Stable 40 release.
