Variant Pets
This mod is a very large compilation of pets, all available from the start.
My goal is that you choose your pet according to the skin, you won’t find any super powerful pets here.
They are currently 259 pets available (including vanilla pets), and they are all supposed to be balanced.
To be clear, no pets here have special skills, except the HobSprite.

Additional Work
This mod is not a simple merge mod, this is the work i’ve made on it :
– Debug some pets who couldn’t use scroll spells
– Add some icons for every pet that didn’t have one (more than 100)
– Balance the pets to be more or less equals
– Change the sounds for very loudly pets
– Add some alternative colors for a lot of pets
– About 30 pets were added based on regular monsters
– Change the UI to display 48 pets per page instead of 6 on the creation screen
– Add a merchant in every town who sells pet aspects and accessories
About balance
All pets share the same stats, except for the damage ouptut.
The reason why is because some pets are very slow attackers, and some others are quick.
It wouldn’t be fair if every pet dealt the same damage.
So I’ve increased the damage for slow pets and decreased it for the quick ones.
About merchants
I’ve added a Pet Shop in the town of each act.
This merchant sells random ‘Aspects’, that allow you to permanently change your pet in another one.
He should propose you between 32 and 40 Aspects randomly chosen.
Merchant stocks are renewed like any other merchants.
If you gain a level, if you walk into 3 zones or if you launch a LAN game.
You will also find a few pet trinkets to buy in the Pet Shops.
About compatibility
This mod was made to be compatible with Synergies and TL2 Essentials, and you should’nt have doubles on the creation screen.
It should also be compatible with Variant Classes and some inventory mods like Big Bag Mod or Bigger Inventory.

Using this mod will bind the characters you play with, so be careful.
If you want to remove Variant Pets from your mods list and still want to play with your character, try using Mod Unbinder by lyravega.
It works very well, even if you use a custom pet from start.
