Description:

GENERAL:

This mod improves walled city battles (field battles as well) and makes them much less arcade.

NOTE:

I’m still develloping this mod, so any advice will be very helpful.

CHANGES:

– siege towers and battering rams are much slower (~ 3 x times ),
– units are climbing the walls much slower ( ~ 4 x times),
– unit run speed decreased,
– city walls and gates HP significantly increased. The attacker needs a lot of artillery units to break the walls.
– AI better uses siege ladders (still needs some improvement),
– defence penalty for outnumbered units (it is set to 0.7, in vanilla it is 1), so single units are less powerful,
– city towers fire arc is 180 degrees,
– city plaza, gates and towers time to capture increased,
– autoresolve for city battles changed to comply with new gameplay,
– cavalry charge improved,
– fire on walls improved,
– moral is rebalanced,
– my version of realistic fly for units,
– my version of battle UI – small flags and fade effects etc,

and other changes…

EFFECT:

Siege towers and battering rams are easy targets now. They are very slow moving and can be easily destroyed by fort towers. So, the attacker needs to build more rams and towers. The gates are much stronger and can not be easily destroyed by infantry or even by monsters. It can be done only, by slow moving battering rams. If all towers and rams destroyed, the attacker uses siege ladders all around the city but it takes a lot of time to climb the walls now. So the only way to take the city is to capture the walls and the gates.

With this mod, city defender has great advantage against atacker.

I recommend this mod for those, who play 40 units per stack.
