Ever found it rather weird that despite being one of the most powerful spellcasters among the Dark Elves, Morathi has access to only two out of the six dark magic spells actually available in the game?

Introducing Morathi – Dark Magic Expanded

Well, I did! So I addressed the issue. Morathi now has access to the entire Lore of Dark Magic. In addition, I have improved her composite ‘Lore Pool of Morathi’ by including Flaming Sword of Rhuin and Flame Storm alongside the existing Shadow and Death spells that she had access to in vanilla. Despite being a relatively simple mod, this was actually incredibly time consuming because of the way the game handles composite lores.

Features

All six Lore of Dark magic spells available for Morathi.

A mixed ‘Lore Pool of Morathi’ spell-set that includes Pit of Shades, Mystifying Miasma, Flame Storm, Flaming Sword of Rhuin, Soulblight, and finally Doom and Darkness.

The spells contained in this mixed pool are buffed when cast by Morathi, so she really should feel like a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

Added a skill dump with an actually useful effect, ‘Endless Power’, that unlocks at Rank 30 and will provide a +1 bonus to the Winds of Magic reserve with every point put into it.

Modified Morathi’s innate "Dark Manipulator" trait to give a larger winds of magic reserve, and a reduced cooldown bonus to her spells.

Added a new ability to the end of the magic skill tree, "Dark Sacrifice", a once-per-battle ability that acts as a overcharged version of Power of Darkness but does significantly more damage to your own units (if used on standard infantry/cavalry/ranged, anyway).

Compatibility

This mod should be compatible with SFO and Radious, as well as any other mod, as long as they don’t make significant changes to lores of magic and the magical branch of her skill tree.

For modders, the only table that I’m using a ‘hard’ copy of is special_ability_groups_to_unit_abilities_junctions_tables. I’m fairly certain this is necessary to achieve the mod’s objectives but I’m always interested in ways to improve compatibility.

This mod does not work in co-operation with my other standalone spell overhauls. Please visit my compilation overhaul if you’d like to use a general spell overhaul that includes other legendary lord’s as well as Morathi. This mod is not compatible with any of my other spell overhaul mods, if you’d like to use multiple spell overhauls then please use the compilation!
