Historically Accurate Slavic Religion
It proves Paradox got it totally wrong.
This mod adds a more historically accurate depiction of the Slavic Religion which includes:
1. Polygamy
– Pre-Christian Slavs were polygamic (I.e. Its a historic fact that Mieszko I had 7 wives before converting to Christianity)
2. Importance of the ‘cult of hospitality’
– It’s a prominent motive in slavic legends and early chronicles
3. Acceptance of magic
– It’s obvious. I.e. The Dziady (calling spirits of the dead) ritual had been practiced in the Polish countryside until the XIX century.
4. Slavic religion is an open religion.
– That’s why it incorporated lots of people & different tribes, who accepted Slavic culture eventually becoming Slavs (i.e. the Bolgars)
5. Homosexuality is shunned but not criminalized
– Poland is the only place in Europe where this type of behaviour wasn’t ever criminalized. In general, unlike Western Europe ‘vagino-scepticism’ & ‘pansynes’ were historically ridiculed, but never seriously penalized, even in East European countries where they’ve been officially declared as criminal offence.
6. Priests are male
– This can be deduced from the name of the function: ‘żerca’
7. Rather ‘non-prudent’ social norms
– Noc Kupały..

Enjoy.
