Lemmy’s Balance Mod
Some balance tweaks, I’ve mainly made for myself – but some others may appreciate them! I’ve not played enough to know for sure that these values are perfect, this is very BETA, so feedback is welcome! Will continue to tweak as I go and add new balancing in as I go. I plan tweaks to lifestyles and various other things.
All changes apply to both player and AI.

Alliances:
Overall goals: Make alliances less overwhelmingly defining factor in warfare, encourage fewer but more meaningful alliances, and encouraging being more picky about alliance marriages. Where personality and opinion of those you’re in an alliance with is also vitally important.
* Rulers will be much less inclined to accept marriage proposals if you are already in several alliances
* Call to arms (alliance or house) has higher base refusal level, and opinion and honour (personality) of the character matters a lot more in the decision, along with their opinion of the ruler attacking you/defending against you.
* Much more severe opinion malus from not accepting a call to war, especially a defensive war. Keep turning down your calls to war and don’t expect them to come running next time.
Councillers:
* Made default jobs give more per skill point level (more opinion bonuses, more levies etc) to make taking them off default jobs more impactful.
* Given two main chancellor jobs (foreign/internal) a significant boost as it always feels chancellor job doesn’t matter too much compared to other positions. Foreign affairs now also offers increase to liege opinion (though less than fellow vassals) – this also makes chancellor boosting perks in lifestyle trees more valuable.
Scheming:
* Increased scheme resistance for rulers based on tier
* Maximum of 90% secrecy / success chances on schemes.
* More protection per intrigue skill point for kidnappings / murders.
* Makes it harder to force someone to convert religion as a condition to release from prison
Childhood Education:
* At age of 6 of any of your children, or wards, you will recieve an event which will allow you to choose the child’s education focus, to make sure you don’t miss it and forget to specify the focus you wish the child to have.
Historical:
Pushed reproductive/adult/marriage/education age from 16 to 14 – Icky but historically accurate and more convenient in gameplay (considering what else goes on this game seems silly to be coy about this one).
