The Primary Chronicle
It is the year 879. On his deathbed, the Varangian chieftain Rurik, founder of Rus’ and the Rurikid dynasty, entrusts his realm and his small son Igor to Oleg, one of his kinsman. Respected by friend and foe alike as a shrewd military commander and a fearsome warrior, some also believe Oleg to be a seer, destined to lead the tribes of Rus’ southward. Still others believe that he has dabbled in the dark arts and frequently consults with forest witches.
This mod is loosely based on the Russian Primary Chronicle. As of now, it is simply a bookmark with a start date of 879. The player character is Oleg, whose primary heir is Igor, the only son of Rurik. Oleg is unable to have children of his own or marry for reasons that remain shrouded in mystery. I changed many of the names for the Rurikid princes from Norse to their traditional English counterparts because the Norse names are confusing.
I plan on adding to the story (more bookmarks, more characters, and eventually, events) as we learn more about how modding works.
