JNR Kiwa90 Diesel-powered wagon
The Kiwa90 is a Diesel-powered wagon developed by the Japanese National Railways in 1960. The main purpose of this prototype was to transport a small amount of cargo efficiently on local lines. However, due to the time required to change freight cars from the main line and the lack of engine power, pulling two freight cars was all that could be done and there was insufficient transport capacity, so only two freight cars were built and, after testing, they were converted into construction vehicles.
