Description:

This mod will require Crynsos Community Moding Framework (CMF). If you don’t have CMF installed, download and enable it, otherwise the script for my mod will no longer work. With CMF the mod will be much more compatible with other scripting mods.

OVERVIEW

This mod adds new campaign mechanics, new dilemmata and incidents to your Empire campaign. Needs a new campaign to work properly. Don’t use this version if you play the Steel Faith Overhaul Mod since it’s already part of SFO.

NEW MECHANIC – The State of the Empire (player only)

As newly elected Emperor you are responible for the saftey and integrity of the Empire as a whole. As long as all 25 Imperial regions (without Marienburg) are under the control of one of the Elector Counts, you get a small buff to growth and public order. Lose territories by devastation or occupation and these bonuses will turn into penalties (since you lose the trust of the population)! However, your standing with the Elector Counts will improve the more the Empire as a whole is in peril.

NEW DILEMMA – The Emperors Choices (player only)

Every 30 turns you have to choose between 4 basic stances regarding your rule: Do you want to strengthen your military, build up your provinces, control your lands through religion or do none of it? Choosing one stance will give you many benefits, but these have to be payed with a small amount of your tax income.

NEW DILEMMAS – ‘Imperial Peace’ and ‘Kislev’ (player) and ‘Imperial Peace (AI setup)’

You can convince the Elector Counts to no longer wage war on each other, but it will cost you a bit of tax income. You can also make them no longer attack Kislev and vice versae for a small sum of money. If you play any other faction instead of Empire, you get a dilemma at the bginning of the game which let’s you set up all Imperial states and Kislev not to attack each other. This lasts for the rest of the campaign. NOTE: These diplomatic changes are purely optional. You can chose to apply them or not.

NEW DILEMMA – Taxes (player only; also works for the playable factions of Bretonnia & Dwarfs )

Every 20 turns you have the choice to raise or lower the taxes, which comes with public order and growth penalties/bonuses. You can also choose to not change anything of course.

NEW MECHANIC – Last Stand (AI only)

Should the Empire as a whole ever lose more then half it’s regions a powerfull Imperial army will spawn to help save the Empire. This may also bring the Empire back from the dead.

NEW MECHANIC – Enemy of the Empire (AI only)

If you choose Imperial Peace for all AI Empire factions they will not only never fight with each other, they will also declare war on any faction that dares to occupy, sack or raze at least 3 imperial cities (Marienburg not included).

…PLUS 10 MORE DILEMMATA AND INCIDENTS

To add more flavour to the campaign I designed several new dilemmas and incidents:

  • The Fate of Marienburg – Decide what your stance toward Marienburg is.
  • Witchhunters – They offer their help but it comes with a price…
  • Mordheim – Make profit from warpstone trade…or better not?
  • Beer for the Fish – A incident on the river Reik may hurt your relationship with the dwarfs.
  • For Sigmar! – Chaos is invading your lands and the flagellants are rising.
  • Refugees – Refugees from lost imperial regions will show up in one of your provinces (will randomly trigger if imperial regions are lost).
  • Manoeuvres (also for Dwarfs and Bretonia) – Train your troops
  • Skaven – Deny or acknowledge the existence of intelligent ratmen

REQUIREMENTS & COMPATIBILITY

NEEDS A NEW CAMPAIGN TO WORK AS INTENDED! May crash your game if you decide to uninstall the mod. Requires Crynsos Community Moding Framework (CMF) to work properly!

Compatibility:

  • SFO: You don’t need this standalone mod. The Empire (ME) is already integrated into SFO.
  • Crynsos Faction Unlocker: Compatible. However, some core features won’t work with other imperial factions.
  • Radious: Compatible (no bug reports yet).

KNOWN ISSUES

There is a vanilla bug with events that can make the UI unresponsive, so you can’t end your turn for example. In this case try quicksaving and quickloading the game with the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl + S and Ctrl + L).
