Conclave: a Spiritual HoF Succession System
Welcome to Conclave: a Spiritual HoF Succession System
The mod adds a brand new system (accessible via the new "Head" tab in the religion window) for Head of Faith election à la conclave. The system is implemented for all Spiritual Heads of Faith, both historical and created. Similarly to the system Paradox implemented for CK2, the system adds the concepts of Preferatus, Electors, and Elector Candidates.
WARNING: For the mod to work properly, a new game is required.
Mechanics:
Electors & Preferatus
Electors vote among themselves to elect the new Head of Faith. At any point in time, the Preferatus signals which Elector holds the most votes.
Elector Candidates
Rulers of duke tier or above (count tier if independent) get to appoint an Elector Candidate. Whenever an Elector dies or becomes Head, the Best among all Elector Candidates becomes the new Elector in her stead. The Best Elector Candidate is chosen by ranking every Candidate according to a score (scores can be toggled through a dedicated interface button, with more info about how it is calculated accessible via tooltip). When an Elector Candidate becomes Elector, their appointer gains a hook on them (normal hook without sponsorship, strong hook with sponsorship), some piety/prestige, and a dynasty renown boost if they are of the same dynasty. Furthermore, as Electors vote among themselves to pick the new Head, the newly appointed Elector now has the chance to become Head. If that happens their former appointer now gets to enjoy a hook on the Head of Faith (and a dynasty renown boost if they are of the same dynasty).
Sponsorship
At any point in time, an appointer can sponsor their Elector Candidate to boost their chance of becoming the next Elector. This comes at a sizeable cost (gold, piety, and prestige), but will grant the appointer a stronger hook in case their Candidate is picked as Elector.
Compatibility:
The mod should be compatible with almost any other mod, as it only edits the following vanilla files:
– gui/window_faith.gui
– gui/window_character_finder.gui
– gui/shared/lists.gui
– events/religion_events/faith_creation_events.txt
