[KYD] Rebalanced – Apothecary is the first entry into my Rebalanced series, focusing on reducing clutter and tweaking recipes, drugs, meals, buildings, and more in other mods.

Apothecary (Continued) is one of my favourite mods for Neolithic, Tribal, or Medieval playthroughs – I’d even consider it Essential. As such, I wanted to take the time to address my criticisms by creating this add-on to improve my own experience, and hopefully that of others. I removed some content, buffed some things, and nerfed others. I’m very open to feedback so if you think something I did is way off, or think I should make a change I didn’t, just let me know.

Pelador’s original mod is not supported. While I’m thankful for his work, much like him it’s time to move on.

  • All Elixirs: Work set to 4500.
  • All Ointments: Work set to 4000, except Lavender Soap to 2500.
  • All Teas: Work amount set to 2000/3000. Working speed moved to Drug Cooking, working stat moved to Cooking.
  • All Tonics: Work set to 1500.
  • Aloe Cream: Regen lowered from 3 to 2, Pain reduction increased from x95% to x90%, Blood Filtration +3% removed.
  • Lavender Soap: Recipe removed from all benches except Apothecary Table.
  • Scar Cream: Blood Filtration +5% removed, Pain reduction increased from x90% to x85%.
  • Yarrow Cream: Pain reduction increased from x95% to x90%.
  • Smelling Salts: Consciousness boost lowered from +25% to +10%, duration increased from 6hrs to 8hrs.
  • Stomach Salts: Eating boost lowered from x125% to x110%.
  • Ginger Tea: Metabolism boost increased from +5% to +6%, Pain reduction removed, Work set to 3000.
  • Ginseng Tea: Mood boost increased from +3 to +4, Work set to 3000.
  • Henbane Tea: Pain reduction decreased from x55%/x50% to x65%/55%, Social fight chance lowered from 1.25/1.5 to 1.15/1.4, Work set to 3000.
  • Kale Tea: Toxic Sensitivity increased from -2% to -5%, Blood Filtration +3% removed, Work set to 2000.
  • Nettle Tea: Blood Filtration +2% removed, Breathing boost increased from +3% to +5%, Work set to 2000.
  • Quinine Tea: Blood Filtration boost lowered from +20% to +10%, Work set to 2000.
  • Turmeric Tea: Pain reduction lowered from x77% to x85%, Work set to 3000.
  • Flu Tonic: Garlic Powder removed as an ingredient, now provides Blood Filtration +10%.
  • Willow Tonic: Blood Pumping increased from +3%/7% to +5%/10%, Blood Filtration increased from +1%/3% to +3%/5%.
  • Wormwood Tonic: Blood Filtration increased from +2%/4% to +4%/6%, now increases Metabolism by +4%/6%.


Nettle Hemp: Beauty increased to 120%.
Tallow: removed from MeatRaw category.




  • Lime Plaster Tiles: Cost changed from Calcium Carbonate x10/Tallow x2 to Lime Plaster Blocks x5
  • Lime Plaster Planter and Bat Sculpture cost changed from Calcium Carbonate x100/Tallow x20 to Lime Planter Blocks x50.
  • Lime Plaster Bird Bath, Large Edgy Sculpture, and Large Owly Sculpture cost changed from Calcium Carbonate x200/Tallow x40 to Lime Plaster Blocks x100.

  • Absinthe Mash cost changed from Wormwood x20/Star Anise x5 to Wormwood x5/Star Anise x15, stack count increased from 25 to 50.
  • Ammonia Hay work reduced from 500 to 250.
  • Ammonia Water: x5 recipe removed, x25 recipe work lowered from 1500 to 1125.
  • Calcium Carbonate: From Chunks/Blocks work skill changed to Crafting, work speed changed to General Labor.
  • Charcoal: Work lowered from 1250 to 500, recipe now provides Wood Ashes x5.
  • Compost: x10 recipe removed, Nettle and Kale removed from ingredients list.
  • Herbal Medicine from Yarrow: x5 and x25 recipes removed.
  • Lime Plaster Blocks: Result increased, from Lime Plaster Blocks x20 to x25. Cost adjusted accordingly, from Calcium Carbonate x40/Tallow x8 to Calcium Carbonate x50/Tallow x10.
  • Nettle Hemp: x15 recipe removed.
  • Neutroamine from Ammonia Water: x5 and x10 recipes removed.
  • Preserve Mix: Work skill changed to Crafting, work speed changed to General Labor.
  • Sal Ammoniac: x25 recipe removed, recipe cost lowered from Charcoal x200 to Charcoal x100, work lowered from 2400 to 1750.
  • Salt: Recipe from Chunks/Blocks work skill changed to Crafting, work speed changed to General Labor.
  • Treated Herbal Medicine: Recipe cost lowered from Herbal Medicine x5/Aloe Oil x5/Yarrow Oil x5 to Herbal Medicine x5/Aloe Leaves x10/Yarrow Material x10.
  • All Oils: Removed.
  • All Powders: Removed.

  • Vanilla Cooking Expanded: Switches to VCE Salt, look for the recipe on the Condiment Table. All Salt costs in recipes reduced to 1/10th rounded up. (Patch has been provided to Mlie for inclusion in base mod). Separate: Can refine Course Rock Salt from Apothecary into Salt, at the Apothecary Table and Condiment Table.
  • Medical Supplements (Continued): Yarrow Bandages recipe changed from Cloth/Nettle Hemp x10 to Bandages x5.
  • Salted Meat: Removes Salted Meat Barrel recipe from Apothecary.
  • Expanded Materials – Metals: Limited Support! Apothecary Charcoal and Expanded Materials – Metals Charcoal are produced with the same recipes as before, but are otherwise interchangeable as recipe ingredients or fuel sources.
