This is an experimental fusion plant, brought to you by the usual suspects at the industriburo for use in your republics. It’s small but powerful and runs incredibly lean on nuclear fuel, so it won’t blow a hole in the national budget. It also creates minute amounts of nuclear waste, in the form of worn-out components that are unfathomably radioactive and cannot be disposed of normally.
It also uses chemicals, and requires 100 workers and 50 engineers to run, and is brought to you by the good people who thought the RBMK was a good design, only this one burns with the heat of an angry star! What could go wrong?
