Arstotzka V8 (NEW LANDSCAPE!)
Completely new map made from scratch!
The Kingdom of Kolechia dates back to the Congress of Vienna in 1815 and it incorporated Kolechia itself and the Kingdom of Arstotzka which was an agricultural powerhouse but made the mistake to turn too much toward illuminism while Kolechia was a dispotic monarchy which was extremely backward for the time.
This forced cohabitation between two people created a lot of resentment, in particular among Arstotzkans which felt treated as second class citizens while providing most of tax income and resources to Kolechia.
The first world war and the emergence of communism in Obristan created the basis for a proletarian revolution which broke out during the 1st of August Coup in 1939, a group of fascist kolechian ethnic military deposed the King of Kolechia in the capital, Grestin, and took power. This was unacceptable for Arstotzkan which started a heavy insurgency which led, one week later, in the Obristani invasion of Arstotzka and the beginning of the Second World War or, as it is known is Arstotzka, the "Six Years War".
In May 1945 fascism in Europe was defeated, Arstotzka became part of the Obristan sphere of influence after the Orvech Vonor Conference between the leader of the United Kingdom, United States and Obristan.
In June 1946 the Arstotzka general elections saw a victory (over 65% of the votes) for the National Proletarian Front of Arstotzka; shortly after the new government took power it started to turn Arstotzka in a socialist states effectively banning the opposition and taking full power of the function of the state.
In the following years the government was unable to restart an economy which was severely weakened by the war and which posed all the challenges of a newly formed states, that’s why on the 1st of January 1960 you were called to take the helm of the country replacing the aging former secretary of the now Socialist Front of Arstotzka (SFA).
It’s now your job to transform Arstotzka in an economic powerhouse.
1) The map is better played in hard mode, I suggest starting with agriculture and farming.
2) Resources are scarce, there are small oilfields in the southern coastline and a few coal, iron and uranium.
3) Plenty of forests
4) There’s plenty of flat land and plenty of mountains, great for agriculture.
5) No bauxite in this region, sorry… You have to import it.
