Cato’s Better Trade Companies
A small tweak to how trade companies work. In the current version of the game, if you have the money, you can essentially build the special tier of trade company investments as soon as you get a single province in the region. With this mod, to build one of the advanced tiers(Governor’s Mansion, Admirality, etc.), you must have at least 5 of the highest tier basic buildings of the corresponding type.
Example: To build a Township in the West African Charter, you would need to have at least 5 Broker’s Offices in the region, which means you would need at least one province in 5 of the 10 areas that make up the charter(Cap Verde, Jolof, Futa Jallon, Guinea, West African Coast, Benin, Gulf of Guinea, Sao Tome, Kongolese Coast, or Angola).
As compensation, you can now build every advanced type of investment in each trade company region, such as what you could do in previous versions of Eu4. However, you are still limited to only one of each type per trade company region.
In addition to the above changes, a few of the advanced buildings have been buffed:
– Officer’s Mess
Now grants an additional +1% to land force limit modifier.
– Admirality
Now grants an additional +1% to naval force limit modifier and +0.05% marines force limit.
Township
– Army tradition increased from +0.025 to +0.03.
Governor’s Mansion
– Minimum autonomy reduction increased from -5 to -10.
