Terrae Nullius
Game version: 1.27
Last updated: 10.5.2018
This mod was inspired by the Dynamic Colonial Cultures mod by Ah Rowan ma bot. The idea of Dynamic Colonial Cultures was great, but I felt that more could be done/improved upon.
The focus of Terrae Nullius is to make the colonization process more dynamic and unique for each playthrough. To accomplish this the mod uses several modules of events to introduce randomness and variety to the colonization process. Each of these modules are largely independent of each other, so it is possible to easily remove an unwanted feature.
The current list of event modules are:
- Colony Culture – Assign’s a culture to a newly completed colony based on several factors
- Native Boom – May increase the Native Size of uncolonized provinces
- Native Decline – May decrease the Native Size of uncolonized provinces
For a better breakdown and description of the mod’s features please go to the linked thread.
The mod also makes changes to a couple of defines to make it more difficult, especially for the AI, from culture flipping the provinces back to the ‘original’ province culture. This is a limitation (‘feature’) of the game as when you colonize a province, its original culture that was assigned in the history files is wiped and becomes the colonizing nation’s primary culture, except for colonies in trade company regions.
This mod has built in support for Native Policies Guide Colonial Subjects mod, otherwise it should be compatible with almost any mod out there as long as they don’t make changes to the following defines: PS_CHANGE_CULTURE_OVERSEAS_RELIGION_MOD, CULTURE_COST_DIFF_ORIGINAL and CULTURE_COST_DIFF_ADJACENT.
Even then it should be compatible, only thing that will change is how easy it is to convert a province’s culture (both for the player and AI).
