Description:

This mod aims to add greater diversity to the dog species of Kenshi.
To this end it adds a total of 13 new dog species. 11 of the 13 species are wild animals and can be found roaming in nature. The remaining 2 species are domestic breeds of dog and can only be purchased in shops or found stray in the streets of the towns of The United Cities and The Holy Nation.

All dogs can be kept as pets. They have been added to wandering animal traders in their respective regions. Some dogs have been added to local animal traders in towns that fall inside of their territory. Both of the settled nomad towns sell the dogs that roam near their area. Finally, the Nomads faction will send a "Canine Trader" occasionally to your outpost. The canine trader has a chance to stock all species of dog.

The wild dogs all have respective "Alpha" animals that are included in their packs. The Alpha animal will drop a skin unique to its race which, along with some other materials, can be used to research the crafting of a respective head armour (referred to as a "Trophy" in game), which will provide a subtle and unique bonus depending on the species of dog it was crafted from. They can be crafted using the "Leather Armour Crafting bench". They also look pretty cool. They can be researched in the "Animal Trophies" section of the tech tree from tech level 0. The skin also has higher monetary value that scales with the strength of the various species. All hat variants are textured according to the animal they come from.

Changes to vanilla animals:

– Bonedogs have a far smaller area that they inhabit, they have been replaced by different species in some areas. Their new range is marked on the map visible in the image previews. They are still available for purchase in the same locations as vanilla.

– Vanilla Mountain Dogs have been made a species separate from Bonedogs and given a distinct colour, this is included in the 13 species mentioned above.

– Boneyard Wolves have had their texture edited so that their non-skin and non-fur features maintain their natural colour, rather than all being washed a shade of brown.

– Both Bonedogs and Boneyard Wolves have had their claws made an off-white colour, and the whites of the eyes are slightly less red. This is also consistent across all new species.

Credit for the more interesting species goes largely to my wife, who created the lovely retextures that they use.

If you discover anything not working as intended, or have concerns regarding the balance please leave a comment and I will try to address/fix any issues in as timely a manor as I am capable of.
