FS Piano Ribassato expansion set

Le carrozze piano ribassato tipo 1965 furono dei veicoli (per il trasporto passeggeri tipo vicinale) rivoluzionari per l’epoca. La versione iniziale era studiata per raggiungere velocità di 160km/h, limitata in seguito a 140km/h. I carrelli erano del tipo FD24 con freni a ceppi, dinamo generatore di corrente per servizi ausiliari e pistone freno ad aria compressa. Le porte presentavano vetri di ridotte dimensioni ed i sedili erano di un tipo in stile minimale dell’epoca. La semipilota era sprovvista del terzo faro.
Questo tipo di carrozze subì, nel corso del tempo, diversi ricondizionamenti, ultimo dei quali iniziato nel 2004 e finito alcuni anni dopo il 2010. Il revamp xmpr prevede l’installazione di vetri corazzati con finestrino a vasistas e l’applicazione di un impianto di condizionamento con vistosti gruppi refrigeratori sul tetto delle vetture. La semipilota ricevette un tipo di cabina moderno, molto simile al frontale della E464.
Tali vetture effettuano ancora servizio regolare per le FS e per Trenord.

The tipo 1965 low floor carriages were revolutionary vehicles (for local passenger transport) for the time. The initial version was designed to reach speeds of 160km / h, later limited to 140km / h. The bogies were the FD24 type with shoe brakes, power generator dynamo for auxiliary services and compressed air brake piston. The doors had small glass and the seats were of a minimal style of the time. The driving car was without the third front light.
This type of wagon underwent, over time, several refurbishments, the last of which began in 2004 and finished a few years after 2010. The XMPR Revamp involved the installation of armored glass with vasistas windows and the application of an air conditioning unit on the roof of the cars. The semi-pilot received a modern cabin type, very similar to the front of the E464.
These cars still operate regular services for the FS and Trenord.
