Description:

Have you ever been bothered that the in-game Byzantine Imperial sigil is the banner of the Palaiologos dynasty which was only used in the last years of the Empire (post-1261)? Do you yearn for the old Imperial symbol of the Chi-Rho, which is more thematically appropriate for most of the time periods that CK2 focuses on? If so, then this is the mod for you!

What this mod does:

The existing red and yellow Palaiologos tetragrammatic firesteel sigil, which appears within the Empire’s gold capitoline marker, as well as under characters and faction history, etc, will be replaced with a white Chi Rho, set on a background of porphyry. I feel this not only is more immersive (for if there were to be an official imperial sigil in the Empire’s history, it most likely would have been the Chi-Rho), it evokes the unbroken link that the Byzantine Empire has to Constantine I, its founder.

This mod will not affect achievements, as it is extremely lightweight.

The Rhomaic Era (TRE) is a series of small mods that aim to improve the somewhat lackluster historical content and atmosphere of the Byzantine Empire, arguably the single most important state within the epochal scope of Crusader Kings II. In a sense, this series of mods is intended as an unofficial supplement to the Legacy of Rome DLC. TRE introduces historically-themed, thoughtfully-minded additions that are immersive to the Byzantine player, and are packaged to allow customization as desired.

Current mods in the series:

+ Chi-Rho Byzantine Imperial Sigil
+ Songs of the East and West
