Toprus’ Electric Arc Furnace Steel Mill
Hi!
This time I present to you my first large industrial building – an electric arc furnace steel mill.
I know a lot of people missed those and the workshop offered very little items from this category… until now.
It is based on the steel mill located in Częstochowa, Poland
An electric arc furnace works simmilarly to a traditional blast furnace one, except it uses electricity to melt the iron, not coke.
This one in the game costs a lot of money, especially electronic components.
Precise stats:
Max daily consumption – 16 tonnes of coal, 528 tonnes of iron, 1080MWh of energy
Max daily production – 165 tonnes of steel (almost 4 times the output of the default steel mill!)
1650 max workers
Storage – 800 tonnes iron, 40 tonnes coal, 250 tonnes steel
You will propably need a separate power plant (if you’re using the default coal power plant) to sustain the electricity requirements for the building. Construction will take very long (even on autobuild) and the building has no conveyor connections (though it does have 2 forklift connections). To compensate for that, it includes 12 (yes) rail connections for your trains coming from across the country to supply the steel mill with coal and iron and take the ready goods. It has 6 vehicle stations and has the script, which allows vehicles to exit without colliding with entering vehicles to speed up the process. It also makes use of the new concrete panels and gravel decorational squares.
